Safety Manager

Direct Reports: 0
Location: Remote

The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing safety policies, conducting training and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations to create a safe work environment. The Safety Manager will continuously monitor and adapt safety procedures to fit company needs and will work with management on any safety issues or concerns. This position will travel to jobsites regularly to monitor safety practices in the field.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provides effective oversight, leadership and administration of safety processes and procedures
• Designing, planning, implementing policies and procedures in compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards including OSHA, EPA, etc.
• Advises management on compliance concerns and preventative actions
• Manage safety surveys, inspections, findings, recommendations, and follows up to ensure implementation
• Manages post-incident investigations and tracks metrics for use by management
• Designs and implements training for employees aligning with company vision. Maintains system for training files and records
• Develop and manage company applications used to facilitate risk management
• Assists in the development, evaluation, and upgrading of safety programs
• Manages project reporting requirements including site specific safety plans and SDS sheet tracking/updating
• Create MOPs, SOPs, business continuity and other technical reports and procedures ensuring processes are used
• Travel to headquarter office and jobsites- 75% travel requirement

Required and Desired Skills:
• Experience remotely developing and managing safety personnel, company initiatives, and projects
• Working knowledge of OSHA regulations/standards and other non-regulatory safety standards
• Environmental compliance experience is a plus
• Experience managing incident investigations & RCAs
• Experience with MOC and writing JHAs, SOPs, EOPs, MOPS, Hazcom, technical reports, and procedures
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Construction Management, or Engineering
• Minimum 2+ years of progressive experience in safety within the construction industry
